Why dont we ever hear about the atrocities committed by African Americans?

The buffalo soliders and other black cowboys slaughtering thousands native Americans but they are celebrated as American heros. The enslavement of indiginous Africans in Liberia for over 100 years. Not to mention murdering of over 3,000 vietmense civilians and infecting them with agent orange..

When will we learn about these atrocities commited by African Americans.

We will hear about the atrocities committed by Black Americans when the Whites admit to their atrocities. You wanna start with Christopher Columbus and the irony behind his “holiday”. I didn’t think so. NEXT!!

As many of us HAVE heard of those things and you are speaking them I would say they have been learned. History books are full of them.

When will all of us, regardless of race, been seen as FULLY human? (Human: with both Triumphs and Short Comings)

***This is the problem with History. We are either painted to be pitied or as a problem (Admit it, we’ve done some pretty awesome stuff. Gas Mask anyone?) in a Eurocentric view. And we are painted as Kings and Queens (someone had to farm/serve!) in the Afrocentric view. WHERE IS THE FAIR AND BALANCED ACCOUNT OF HISTORY***

The Americo-Liberians are not the same as African Americans… While what they did was HORRIBLE especially considering they had just come from a land of slavery (the US) themselves… I still would not consider them African American.

Regarding the murder of the Vietnamese… there were PLENTY of African Americans who protested the Vietnam War. (Why fight for a country that treats us like ish when we return home? What have the Vietnamese ever done to us?) And there were White/Asian/Hispanic/Other soldiers commiting the same atrocities…

***>Both the Buffalo Soldiers and the Vietnam Soldiers were examples of Black men serving in a White man’s army… This doesn’t excuse the cruelty, but it is something that should be taken into consideration.***

I have at my school and on my own researching. Still doesn’t compare to what the Europeans did to everyone, to the Asians, Native A’s, Africans, Indians etc. Although a life is a life. Next.
