I guess it would be famous to a small wrestling group like WCCW, I really don’t think it was world famous, but arenas like Madison Square Garden, The Cow Palace in San Francisco, The old Kiel Auditorium in St. Louis Missouri were very famous for the sport of pro wrestling along with several more.

Actually, two buildings come to mind that are not name the Dallas Sportatorium –

    1. – Madison Square Garden, New York, New York – Along with the Rangers and the Knicks, it is also called the home of the WWE. It is where some of the most famous matches have taken place, along with the First Wrestlemania being held there. It is also home to Wrestlemania 10, 20, and soon to be 30. WWE is just one of the reasons why MSG is called the World’s Most Famous Arena

    2. – Hart House (AKA Hart Dungeon), Calgary, Alberta Canada – Formerly Owned by Stu Hart, it is the training grounds of some of the Greatest Wrestlers of all time. Along with the Hart Family, the Dungeon has been used for the training places of Chris Jericho, “Superstar” Billy Graham, Greg Valentine, Bad News Allen, Davey Boy Smith, Brian Pillman, Jushin Liger, Ricky Fuji, and Chris Benoit. Natalya Neidhart, daughter of Jim Neidhart, granddaughter of Stu, was the first ever woman to train at the Dungeon.
