As a real estate appraiser assistant, what is the best way to aquire appraisals?

I need the hours so that I can become licensed in New York State.
With doing unofficial appraisals, those hours can count as appraisal hours tword my state licensing? How many unoffical appraisals can I do?

What I would suggest is possibly drum up some mortgage clients of your own. I understand that you aren’t licensed yet but do you have friends that are loan officers, estate or divorce attorney, or anyone who will need to order an appraisal in the future? If you do then take those contacts and go to an appraiser and say “Hey if I bring the order in here, can I work on it with you for not only the hours but for the traiing and even possibly a split of the money?” Is is a great way to network, get the hours, and get noticed by the appraiser, who may down the line hire you on full time just for your initiative… who knows???

That’s up to your Sponsor appraiser. Do good, and they will give you more. Maybe take another gig with a different shop?

Offer to do unofficial appraisals on your friends’ and family’s houses.
